Industrial capacity
Our 4 production centres, located strategically in different points around Spain: Riba-roja de Túria (Valencia), Antequera (Málaga), Aranda de Duero (Burgos) y Granadilla de Abona (Tenerife) enable us to guarantee maximum product freshness and year-round availability to our customers in Spain, France and Portugal. In addition, our Group has four more processing plants for fresh-cut products in Germany, Italy and Switzerland.

Our facilities are equipped with the latest technology to produce a wide range of ready-to-eat and cook products. At our plant in Antequera, Málaga, we centralise the production of topping trays for the Group’s entire product range in Spain, as well as for international customers.

Our industrial potential is backed up by our agricultural capacity: 5,000 hectares of our own crops. This enables us to supply our plants all year round, as well as to have full control over the entire chain: from the field to the consumer.

Innovation

Innovation is our main ingredient. At Verdifresh we take the latest food trends and turn them into healthy product solutions in practical formats, anticipating our customers’ and market needs.

Every year we invest over 1 million euros in R&D. We reinforce our investment in innovation with alliances and collaboration projects with the most prestigious universities and technology centres.

Agricultural
Innovation

As part of our agricultural activity, we own the Centre of Agricultural Innovation (CIAM), located in the Valencian town of Montserrat. At CIAM, we research new, more efficient and sustainable growing methods and processes. We perform tests to improve new agricultural varieties, mainly baby leaf crops as well as other on-trend food products, such as microgreens. Our activity in this extensive agricultural R&D laboratory includes developing a pilot project for the vertical farming of leafy greens.

Food safety and quality

Maximum food safety and quality are ensured across our entire production chain: from our fields and crops, to our processing plants, through to our suppliers and the end product.

We guarantee strict traceability checks on 100% of our products, right from the seed. Moreover, all of our plants are equipped with the latest food safety technology and quality control. Each plant has its own laboratory, where safety and quality checks are carried out on all product batches every single day. We perform over 10,000 product and raw material analyses every year.

We have implemented the strictest protocols in terms of food safety, quality and environmental sustainability. Our plants are certified with the most demanding international seals in this field. Our plant in Aranda de Duero (Burgos) is also certified for the production of BIO produce.

Our
suppliers

We work together with our suppliers to guarantee the best raw materials and complete traceability of our products along the chain.

This supplier model is included in our Quality Model, which establishes a rigorous standardisation and auditing system ensuring the safety and quality of the raw materials we work with.

All of our agricultural suppliers are certified with the international standard Global G.A.P. for good agricultural practices. We also have suppliers who are certified in the supply of sauces and raw materials for producing our salad topping trays.

Sustainability

We are committed to sustainability. We act responsibly in our day-to-day activity, favouring the environment and creating alliances with different social, business and sectorial associations to generate a positive impact on our society.

As a responsible, innovative company, we include sustainability and ecodesign criteria in our packaging. We use the lowest weight and least amount of materials possible, striving to offer more sustainable packaging solutions to customers and consumers.

At present, in our ready-to-eat salad range, 70% of the plastic in the containers is made from recycled materials and 100% of our cardboard packaging is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified.

Out in our fields and at our plants, we also work to minimise the impact of our activity. To do this, we work on the continuous improvement of our agricultural practices and logistics planning, always favouring an efficient use of resources. All Verdifresh plants have the environmental certification ISO 14001.
